Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and Little Duckling ("we", "us") when you use the app at littleduckling.app. We have tried to keep them short and plain. By creating an account you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
What Little Duckling is
Little Duckling is a baby tracker and routine planner: a shared log of feeds and sleep, a daily plan based on the E.A.S.Y. routine (Eat, Activity, Sleep, You), and live sync between the people you invite. It is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Tracy Hogg or the publishers of Secrets of the Baby Whisperer.
Not medical advice
The plan, suggested nap and bedtime times, totals and anything else the app shows are a guide for organising your day. They are not medical advice and do not replace your midwife, health visitor or doctor. Always follow safe sleep guidance, feed your baby when they need it, and get medical help if you are worried about your baby's feeding, sleep, weight or health. Never rely on the app or the nursery camera to keep your baby safe; they do not monitor breathing or raise alarms.
Who can use it
- You must be 18 or over and a parent or carer of the baby you log.
- You are responsible for your account and for keeping your email account secure, since signing in sends a code there.
- Each person has their own account; please don't share yours.
Your family and who you invite
Everyone in a family sees the same log. When you invite someone, you choose their role: parents can log and invite others, carers can log, viewers can only look. Only invite people you trust with your baby's information, and remove anyone who should no longer see it. If you are a family's owner and delete your account, ownership passes to another parent if there is one.
Your content
What you log is yours. You give us permission to store it, sync it to the members of your family and show it in the app, only so we can provide the service. You can download or delete it at any time from Settings. You are responsible for what you enter and confirm you have the right to enter it.
Using the app fairly
Please don't:
- try to get into accounts, families or data that are not yours, or test our security without our permission;
- overload, disrupt, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or use bots to sign up or sign in;
- use the app for anything unlawful, or to store content that is not about the care of your baby;
- use a connected camera to film anyone without the knowledge of the adults who live in the home.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you the chance to download your data.
Price
Little Duckling is free to start. If we ever introduce paid features, we will say clearly what they cost before you are asked to pay, and you will always be able to download what you have logged.
Keeping the service running
We work to keep the app available and your data safe, and the app keeps working without a signal and syncs when it reconnects. But we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or in sync at every moment, and we may change, add or remove features. Keep your own copy (Settings → Download your data) of anything you can't afford to lose. If we ever close the service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice to download your data.
Our responsibility to you
The app is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for decisions made on the strength of what the app shows, or for losses caused by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Little Duckling and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. What happens to your data when you do is set out in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and ask you to agree again in the app before you carry on. If you don't agree, you can download your data and delete your account.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of the consumer law where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts.
